What is wrong with working society?

What is wrong with people these days? They want jobs but do not want to work. They come to work late, they do not show up at all, or they take a break every half hour. Good work habits are something we should teach our children from a young age. Teach your children to be punctual, to do their best, have pride in what they do, and to make an effort.
In these tough economic times it seems as if one would be thankful to have a job and not one owed to them. I am thankful to have a job to provide for myself and not depend upon others.
Off my soap box now...but do you not agree?
