The Ants Go Marching with the Prince of Darkness

We ventured to Memphis this weekend to the much anticipated DMB concert.

After a little shopping for the house and a great deal on some lawn furniture at Lowes, we made our way to the hotel and then later to meet some friends for food and drinks before heading to AutoZone park. Visit Cafe 61 next time you are in Memphis - the food is way awesome!

Upon entering the park there was a lovely salesman with a bucket of ice cold beverages....oh how it was 100 degrees and they look delightful. We took our $8 beer and inside we went after a little stop at the mist station - whoever invented those was very smart indeed. We find our seats and chat about how glad we are we have purchased seats and are not standing on the field with the crazed fans.

About an hour later Willie Nelson takes the stage. Brian proceeds to say he doesn't sound very good and is off tune, I reply "sounds like Willie to me." I mean Willie is the coolest redneck I know.

After sweating profusely for about 2 hours Dave Matthews takes the stage.....it was well worth the wait! Every time I see a great musician it makes me long to learn to play a musical instrument and be oh so cool as them...
He played some old stuff and new and some great cover songs.

I do love music and especially live music, but I never understood why they schedule these outside concerts in the middle of summer...maybe a Yankee did it unknowing of the heat us Southerners withstand in August.

The next day Waylon calls and says he is in the hospital.....he has a 3 inch nail in his foot. Brian and I head to the hospital for a visit. He shot himself in the foot with a nail gun. Ouch!! Needless to say after a great deal of pain meds and some anesthesia he became the "Prince of Darkness".

After 30 minutes of Ozzy impressions, I think he became the most memorable ER patient that day.
